Stefania Shaffer traded a successful career in corporate America for the middle school classroom as an English Language Arts teacher. Fifteen years later she is expanding her role into writing elective curriculum that focuses on college and career readiness. She is the author of the fictional story Heroes Don’t Always Wear Capes about a student finally finding a few extraordinary teachers who become her heroes for life.

Her second book is the Memoir 9 Realities of Caring for an Elderly Parent: A Love Story of a Different Kind in which she unveils the gritty realities Boomers will face in this funny, and compassionate account of their daunting role if they are the adult child coming home to care for an elderly parent until the very end.

I am late to the party, but after feeling swept away by Big Little Lies, I am salivating for everything she's written. I promised I would not read anything for myself until I finished writing the third book in my new series for kids, but I couldn't help starting The Hypnotist's Love Story two nights ago and now I can't wait to finish. My friends know me so well, so I just received a slew of birthday books. Philippa Gregory's Taming of the Queen, and two final Potter books (I have avoided spoiler alerts for nearly two decades!) are at the top of my stash I'm itching to get to before August.(less)

I find that I write in my head, even while I am experiencing a lull in conversation over dinner--those scenes are moving along in my mind:-)(less)

Donna Stefania, thank you for adding me as a friend on Goodreads.
I am happy you wrote the book 9 REALITIES OF CARING FOR THE ELDERLY PATIENT. I worked as a nurse for over 20 years and mostly worked with the elderly. It was a great experience and I wouldn't have done anything else. Thanks for writing that book. I hope I win it in the giveaway.
