I'm back!

I'm delighted to be releasing another book into the world, similar to the birth of a new god. I am particularly proud of Heart of the Bodach and hope to post its cover soon. My last book, Hunting Rabbits, has been well-received by readers; it's about a woman who is kidnapped and taken to an island where she is hunted as prey. I'm happy that people are enjoying it.

Got called for jury duty. Can't do it but it would be time to sit and reflect and work out kinks in my new novel and brainstorm. Meanwhile if I was on jury duty I'd ask my fellow people what they'd think of this idea. Hopefully someone isn't on death row I think I'd cry. I don't know why but I cry over other peoples tragedy. Go figure I'm not much of a crier on my own problems.

Speaking of problems I still haven't gotten through my next book. I'm just latching on and scooting like an old turtle through mud. I know I should break from writing but how long is too long?

I'll try to post covers from recent books. I'm having problems adding books. No isn number or asin. So go figure

I was humiliated by this sercurity gaurd!

I got crushed and humiliated. read on.

My dear readers,
I found myself hooked on movie reactions. For those who don’t know, you watch a video being watched for the first time with the reviewer and the movie is commented on. Rather like having a friend around to watch something.

My recent one was The Green Mile. One of Stephen King (All hail the king!) stories. The green mile follows Tom Hanks' character as he runs the green mile which is the death row of the prison.

There’s wonderful little plot twists in here. The interaction between the inmates and the guards is really authentic. I liked how one inmate made himself a little friend ( I won't spoil it in case someone here wants to watch it.
It was a hell of a good movie and almost doesn’t make itself known as a drama or maybe even slow horror. The buildup to the end was pretty shocking.

So that’s what I’ve been doing. I look forward to seeing more of them. On the other hand, I have written 1200 words for my next novel. These take spit, blood, and some head banging to get through for me but I never give up for long. Just to give you an example of my patience. See here when a security guard found me;

So I was in a mall that’s closed now doing a little looking around and checking out JcPenney clothes. Now this Jcpenny has a huge makeup shop in the middle of the store and to get to the doors you had to walk all the way around.
All stores at the end of the mall have 2 or 3 doors. (This is important)
I went outside to get in my truck and I couldn’t find it. No biggies I probably got turned around. Went back in, got to the second door and went out thinking I’d find my truck. Well it had to be the last one right? Went out there and no truck. So I went out the third door. SHOOT MY TRUCKS BEEN STOLEN!!!!
I noticed a security guard was sitting in his golf cart watching me.
I ran to him and tearfully told him of my woe and my truck was gone. Did I have to call the police or did he handle this kind of thing?

He glanced around and turned back at me and said something that crushed me.

“Ma’am I just watched you come out that same door three times. “Why don’t I just take you around to the others. I’m sure we’ll find it.
So I waited patiently, stewing in embarrassment. Patiently waiting for the stupid golf cart to move faster.

I found my truck. Learned I had zero patience back then but things are different now ( Not much )

So yea I’m way more patient with my writing. True Story.

Much love to you all.

Halloween

 Wow!

I love Halloween, it’s my favorite time of year. Much to my utter joy several channels are playing Horror movies all month! New and classics. If I wasn’t so fat I’d do flips!! ( Of course not all overweight people suffer from the same problems. I have seen a large individual do gymnastics with flips and they were amazing.)
For Halloween I am showcasing my Demonic horror novel The Oni. This is a harsh book so be warned. There is torture, rape, abuse, horror the whole 9 yards but it has 12 perfect stars on amazon. I hope you love it.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZK9NV9K

I’ve started on new novels but they are leaning less to horror and more to fantasy/romance. Never fear I'll come out with more horror when I’m ready to.

I hope you picked up the first chapter of Hostage if not it’s still available and you can get it here! https://claims.prolificworks.com/free...

There's a new short story for you as well! The Last Fray; https://claims.prolificworks.com/free...

If you can’t click just copy and paste in your browser.

Within a month or so Enchanted will be out. A YA fantasy novel about a young girl who wakes up in a forest full of danger and fabulous beings. It will be under my pen Name Rene Moore

I hope you check it out!

Have a great Halloween and uh...unpleasant dreams lol

The 9th is when it happens!

So things are finalized on Johnny Elf and barring any unforeseen emergencies the novel will be released on January 9th. via Amazon. This is a thriller/suspense/crime novel and my first for this Genre I hope people like it.

Here are the details;

When the carnival rolls into the peaceful town of Haven, GA, Jack and Thomas, so-called freaks of nature and best friends arrive with it. This is to be their last show. Jack is looking forward to retiring from the Freak Show after this stop and living a normal life no longer defined by his physical abnormalities.

While the show goes on for these two friends they remain unaware that even though on the surface Haven appears idyllic underneath the people of the town are hiding a terrible secret.

When a local girl is murdered, Thomas shows up covered in her blood with a damning note implicating him. As the town demands swift and deadly justice, Jack desperately works with the local DA to prove his friend’s innocence against odds and deadly threats stacking against him.

But the further they dig into the town’s sins, the closer they come to the shocking truth. No one is innocent here, and some are willing to kill to keep their secrets buried.

Here is my cover reveal;

Currently a thriller horror is being edited called Falcon Ridge. No date on that yet though I am working to acquire a cover.

Enchanted is complete as a first draft and is a YA novel in t he vein of Narnia with a little twit thrown in.

As always I hope everyone and their family are staying safe.

Fan Fiction

Interesting enough I had a alpha reader who checked out a fanfiction I did. He went on kind of a rant about how it was pointless and was for people who couldn't come up with thier own ideas and asked me several times what was the point?

I'll be the first to say most fanfiction sucks (including mine). I'm also willing to agree most fanfiction is smut (yep guilty)
But I've found when I need a break from what I consider 'real' writing...I write fanfiction so I don't get out of the habit of writing (even if its bad writing).
Also being able to write smut is incredibly useful for romance love scenes and heck non-fanfiction characters deserved to get screwed like everyone else.
I think one of the things I love most about fanfiction is trying to come up with a plot, even if its just two characters screwing theres GOT to be a plot by God!
So in the beginning, you try to draw interest (and with fan fiction the numbers break everything down on most sites) if traffic doesnt get past the first chapter you haven't got the hook right.
Then coming up with things, however rushed, to move the story to the end. Obviously if the numbers stay the same beginning to end you hit it.
If not, well I don't think writers get judged on fanfiction.
The practice is still the same and I feel like fanfiction is great to use to develop writing skills.
So don't dismiss it. Indulge in it for fun while you take a break from 'real' writing sometimes it's the thing you need to do to break down those pesky blocks that inevitably come up

Wattpad experience

Well when I did fanfiction I had one or two stories that garnered a good amount of readers.
That being the case when I was told to try Wattpad to increase my reader base I gave it a shot. I mixed fanfiction with original and was thrilled when I got all of two readers and no feedback.
Huh??
So scratching my head since some writers seem to have huge success with works that seem mediocre.
Anyone else use Wattpad? I can continue to add more works to Wattpad but if it's a waste of time I don't want to bother.
So Falcon Ridge is not making the cut to Traditional publishers, time to sit down and edit it see what I can improve.
AKA Johnny Elf has no cover and I'm getting feedback to change the title.
Enchanted got one good feedback from Alpha readers but that's not enough to make me comfortable moving on to editing.
Hunted changed to Hunting Rabbits I'm at almost 40k but I need to keep writing to hit at least 60k
Same with The Bodach
I hope everyone stays safe.

marketing

Still working on new books to publish. I'm editing AKA Johnny Elf hopefully it will be available in November.

My next horror story is about a woman being hunted on an island. This is a popular trope I know but the different is those who have kidnapped her have told her she will be hunted on the fool moon and her only weapon must be silver.
Hmmm crazy people right?

I have a choice on romances I have merman romance and a Demon romance which I started but hasn't been finished.
My goal is to try to get between 7-10 books over the next 3 years and hopefully star making 1-400.00 extra a month to help offset the costs.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful September! I hope October is a fun month, everyone needs it.
