Rebecca Rosenblum’s fiction has been short-listed for the Journey Prize, the National Magazine Award, the Amazon First Novel Award and the Trillium Award. Her collection, Once, won the Metcalf-Rooke Award and was one of Quill and Quire’s 15 Books That Mattered in 2008. her first novel So Much Love has been translated into French and Polish. Rebecca lives, works, and writes in Toronto.

I did not enjoy reading this, which is separate from whether it is good or not. I did think the book was well-crafted and posed some interesting questions about human nature but it was so incredibly bleak and miserable. A lot of readers here and else ...more

Thanks for the suggestion! That title is really familiar, and yet I don't know the book! I will put it on my list but you are right, it's long so I won't take the chance of borrowing it and then driving you crazy.

hey: i was just thinking about you, and books, and i'm wondering if you've read the elegance of the hedgehog by muriel barbery? it was one of the books i've read in the last year that i really liked, for the characters, mostly; sometimes the author philosophizes a bit much, though she's a professor, so i tend to excuse her. if you haven't read it, i think it's worth putting on your list to-read list. i can lend it to you if you like, but i keep finding myself to dipping back into it, so every time i lend it out, i get very "have you read that yet?" no doubt you already have a long to-read list, but hey, i'd love to hear what you think of it, if you ever get a chance. :)
