Emma #2 cracked the halfway point & progress is progressing. Have a peek at my messy chicken-scratch getting turned into real words!😊 Emma & Jack got off one island only to arrive at another—that's the West Indies…😉

I like to write/scratch on the floor, type on the computer, and then repeat. However, if I wait too long between pen & keyboard, it can become a challenge to read my own notes!😅

Probably you’re not even thinking about this when planning your New Year, and really you shouldn’t, but for me it inspired this image below.🙃 I saw several articles about “AI is getting more sophisticated” wrt art & writing towards the end of 2022. It seems our spell checkers, grammar checkers, dictation tools, world management databases, reading level assessment tools, etc. are continuing to advance.🤖 Some day there may be tools with ‘voices’ of past authors, or even with their own, generating whole novels. We've started adding STEM activities to supplement the main Teacher's Guide for The Day the Pirates Went Mad .

The latest is the recipe for "Apples in Paste". This crunchy muffin-sized apple-pie dessert is the treat that Cookie served the crew of the New Adventure in Chapter 12. Emma's reaction was that it was "...crunchy, sweet, and delicious!" so of course it had to be the first recipe she transcribed into Cookie's Cookbook! :)
