I was born. That may come as a surprise to people who thought I was hatched, cloned, or left by aliens. I don't like to mention that I was born in Cherry Point, North Carolina, because it raises all sorts of questions. "Where's your accent? Don't you hate the cold? What do you remember about the South?" The truth is, I have no recollection of NC. I was just born there, I didn't grow up there, which explains the absence of any sort of Southern drawl.
My parents relocated the family to a small town in Northern New York which I guarantee you've never heard of. Contrary to popular belief, New York has vast tracts of largely uninhabited country, which I have called home for nearly my entire life.
Much of my childhood was spent drawing, playing w

The gods and goddesses of Northern European myths were often cruel and vindictive, and I wanted to put that on full display. I also drew inspiration from an alarming modern trend I see, which is a growing disrespect for life, and the public's seeming willingness to give themselves over to a totalitarian leader. (less)

Most writers try to power through it or something. I've tried that. It usually doesn't work. I typically just wait for an idea to come to me, and then I write it down. Sometimes the idea is crap and I end up throwing it away and trying something else. But I'll go for days, sometimes weeks without writing anything because I don't have anything worth writing. (less)

“Never judge a potato by its skin. One day, it will be french fries.”
Ian Wilson

“Nothing gets me out of bed in the morning like the sound of bagpipes.”
Ian Wilson

“I should probably say something inspirational”
Ian Wilson

“I know in my heart that man is good, that what is right will always eventually triumph, and there is purpose and worth to each and every life.”
Ronald Reagan

“It is the eternal struggle between these two principles — right and wrong — throughout the world. They are the two principles that have stood face to face from the beginning of time; and will ever continue to struggle. The one is the common right of humanity, and the other the divine right of kings. It is the same principle in whatever shape it develops itself. It is the same spirit that says, "You toil and work and earn bread, and I'll eat it." No matter in what shape it comes, whether from the mouth of a king who seeks to bestride the people of his own nation and live by the fruit of their labor, or from one race of men as an apology for enslaving another race, it is the same tyrannical principle.”
Abraham Lincoln, The Lincoln-Douglas Debates

“Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally.”
Abraham Lincoln

“I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how a man could look up into the heavens and say there is no God.”
Abraham Lincoln

“Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.”
Abraham Lincoln
