Editing my first novel THE POTATO SALAD POTLUCK and my first memoir ONE WEEK AT A TIME: A COMING OF MIDDLE AGE MEMOIR both available to add to your To Be Read pile on Goodreads.

In THE POTATO SALAD POTLUCK, four mothers from an affluent white suburb have several things in common. They all have children in kindergarten at the local public school. They are all stuck in lives they wish to escape and secrets they can’t reveal. And they all bring potato salad to the kindergarten potluck. When the party gets out of hand, the chaos clears the clutter of their lives and reveals that the answers to their problems are closer than they think. But first, they’ll need to get the mayonnaise out of their hair and handbags.

I wish there were more stars!! I got a 7-day loan from the library and was worried I wouldn’t get through it. No need to fret. Page turner from the first sentence. This one I might have to read again but slow it down.

Wow! I loved this book. Maddie is so delightfully flawed and her relationship with her dad so sweet. A little funny and a little sad. I rooted for her the entire book. I listened to this one and the narrator is wonderful!

“There is no doubt that Kristine Laco is a super funny writer—just check out any of her online humour pieces if you don’t believe me—but what you might not expect is that she can also turn around and make you cry. In this memoir, Laco reveals her more vulnerable side as she shares her mental health struggles and the journey she undertakes to overcome them, all with her trademark humour and an openness and generosity that makes the reader feel as though they are part of the gang. This is a big-hearted, roller-coaster ride of a book, in which Laco shows the reader that even in the darkest times in our lives, there is light.”
