Seven Stars

So, I have seven grandchildren, around 8 years ago I decided to write a collection of stories for them and named it Seven Stars,

All seven of my grandchildren loved the stories, each having a different favourite.
After many years of saying no to the pressure of family and friends I finally gave in and have published the book - Seven Stars,

I hope that your children and your friends children will love the stories as much as my grandchildren have done over the years - dedicated with love to Ollie, Sam, Libby, Izzy, Alina, Lucy & Maisie Mouse xxxx

Just another day at work!

An interesting few days this week looking at two diverse properties. An intriguing tiny 16th century cottage which has been in the same family for nearly 100 years. Obviously built for mill workers and their families, despite the tiny rooms and low beams it probably housed a large family and looking back on the history of the area, this little line of terraces has remained largely unchanged for hundreds of years. You could almost hear the clump of clogs on the cobbles as the mill workers trudged down to the mill.

On the other end of the scale was the wing of a country house that I had to value. Breathtakingly lovely, soaring ceilings, corbelled arches, all the grace and elegance of a bygone era. Walking around the lovely gardens it was easy to imagine a leisurely game of croquet being played on the immaculate lawns. Lots of ideas for Book 2 and 3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wake me up before you go go !!

Is it just me that is struggling to wake up on these dark mornings? Seriously I am waking up, looking at the clock and thinking ************ I'm late.

The trouble is I lay there at night and new Characters form in my head, new lines for the next book and before I know it I have written a chapter in my head! No excuses I know, so I have asked my daughter to ring me as my personal alarm clock hence the title Wake Me Up Before You GO GO !!

Writing on a rainy day!

So with the weather in Kent this week being so wet and windy, I have settled down to finishing book 2 in The Maycroft Chronicles. Hopefully you have read book 1 Shadows of Butterflies, my first novel which took me 5 years, yes 5 years to complete, well the book was so large that I decided to split it into 3 books, hence The Maycroft Chronicles. I didnt want to be responsible for anyone injuring themselves whilst lifting one almighty book!.

Anyway, back to the keyboard, hope you all enjoy the book and keep out of the rain!
