I was just a kid then, but I remember her kitchen—always smelling like something delicious, her pie safe packed with treats. She had a quiet way of making everyone feel seen, loved, and worthy. Here's what took me decades to understand: She wasn't just feeding bodies. She was feeding souls.

Now I do the same thing, but with words instead of pie.
