A first-time author (accidental author, really), living in Utah. Kelly is devoted to her family, volunteer work, plus other passions like reading, swimming and making stuff. As a former STEAM and Game Development teacher, she also likes to help and inspire others.

Mrs. Parke has worked over 25 years as a professional designer, with an education in Design, Illustration, and Technology — recently adding a BA in Digital Media/Interactive Web/Motion graphics to that list.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Kelly Parke The idea for my first (and only, current) work "Oquirrh Mountain Fairies Mineral Magic" coloring and story book, came about by my desire to make peopl…moreThe idea for my first (and only, current) work "Oquirrh Mountain Fairies Mineral Magic" coloring and story book, came about by my desire to make people feel inspired and full of joy - like I did when first encountering fairies. I wanted people to be transported to a magical place, where they could escape. Being a visual artist, gobbling up visual treats that make my soul dance - I also wanted to create something tactile that could also put a person in creative heaven: coloring. Being a former STEAM teacher, there is an inevitable mix of fun, stealthy learning of science and history, plus creative thinking. Put all that together with a tree bark story from my youngest daughter, geo ideas from my oldest daughter, and a flight in my husband's airplane over the Oquirrhs - and this story was born!(less)
