I used to be pretty and a little bit tough. I used to make my own decisions. I used to be this person, this person that now I think of it I actually quite liked, and I’d actually quite like to know now. I wonder where she is. I wonder who she is now. She would have got fed up with me years ago, just after I met him. She would have left me long ago.

But Kim is about to discover that when her husband leaves her, the person she used to be soon returns. And the Kim who's pretty, and a little bit tough, is recovering from her emotional wounds when she meets lead singer Dylan.

‘But I’m older than you’ I venture, too scared to say the words ‘too old’ out loud.
‘Forty to my thirty one is not a big deal,’ he scoffs. ‘And look, I’ve got more laughter lines than you.’ He frowns. ‘Why haven’t you been laughing?’ and he touches his lips to the corners of my eyes.
‘And you’re not exactly fat and frumpy,’ he jokes. Then he sighs and rests his forehead against mine as I breathe, green eyes falling into brown. ‘It’s more like you’re hardly there at all. You’re ethereal. It makes me want to grab you and hold on tight in case you disappear, float away.’
