Luc François ist ein erfolgloser Schreiber aus Luxemburg. Das trifft sich gut, denn so konnte er seine eigenen Erfahrungen in »Wasserstand« einfließen lassen und musste sich nicht alles aus den Fingern saugen. Nachdem sich Luc in seinem Schaffen zunächst auf Fantasy und Science-Fiction konzentriert und eine Reihe Bücher im Eigenverlag veröffentlicht hat, springt er mittlerweile munter von Genre zu Genre und schreibt, was immer ihn gerade bewegt.

Auch neben seiner Vorliebe für phantastische Literatur gibt sich Luc alle Mühe, das Klischee des langhaarigen Nerds in sämtlichen Facetten auszuleben: Beruflich ist er als Programmierer unterwegs und musikalisch betätigt er sich als Sänger der Metal-Band Mindpatrol.
