I tried on many occaisions to start writing. I usually tried to start with an outline. Two things came together when I was in my mid fifties. I heard a number of authors saying they never work from an outline. They just start writing. And I read the Davinci Code, along with just about everyone else. I got two things from it. The story took place over a few days I believed three. Also the story bounced back and forth between two different story line.

The format fit the story I had been playing with in my head for a long time. The plot of my first book, Henry on Fire, takes place over 12 days.
