I'm a retired battalion chief from the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Colorado. My 37-year career began as a volunteer firefighter in New Jersey, then progressed to the USAF, USMC, and nearly 30-years with Loveland Fire. During my career I served at the ranks of firefighter, driver/operator, lieutenant, and battalion chief. I've led many programs including hazardous materials, wildland firefighting, special operations, EMS, recruiting, and health and safety.

Absolutely fantastic book! There are a multitude of leadership lessons to be gleaned from Major Winters book and this is one that all leaders should read and then star, mark, underline, and highlight the golden nuggets in Chapter 16, Reflections.

This is an excellent book. Not only is this a historical account of the Battles of Kham Duc and Ngok Tavak, but it is an accounting of incredible heroism by the troops on the ground and the aircrews (fixed wing and helicopter) above. This is a riveti ...more
