The release date is December 22nd for my contribution to JMS Books’ Naughty or Nice seasonal stories. My story has a bit of twinkly Christmas magic with a Regency setting, where during rehearsals for an amateur reading of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Puck is invoked to cause mischief amongst the cast with his love potions!
Matthew Lewis is trapped at a Christmas country house party by snowy weather and forced to take part in a reading of a Midsummer Night’s Dream. To make things worse, his lost love Crispin Marley, to whom he has sworn undying hatred, is amongst the guests. Can some fairy magic from Puck help the estranged couple to make amends for once and all?

For this one, I’ve gone back to Elizabethan London of the 1570s for a love story between a young serving man and an apprentice to a spice merchant, suddenly thrown together by an alarmingly unexpected event.
In Elizabethan England, Gregory Fletcher’s quiet life as a serving lad for his London relatives is punctuated by trips to the spice merchant’s shop, where he finds the handsome apprentice, Jehan, more intriguing than the exotic goods on display.
When Gregory discovers Jehan is in peril, his instinct is to come to his aid whatever the cost. But will this mean danger for Gregory too?

At twenty years of age, Gregory Fletcher is content with his life, biding his time as a serving lad for kindly, wealthy relatives in Elizabethan London. Sometimes, he wishes for a spark of excitement in his staid existence. The occasional glimpse of Jehan Zanini, the handsome apprentice of a local merchant, adds spice to his dreams.
Out of the blue, Jehan is accused of stealing from an aristocratic customer. Gregory fears he may never see him again and is concerned for Jehan’s liberty and even his life. When Gregory gets the chance to help Jehan escape his fate, he grasps the opportunity without hesitation. Can Gregory engineer Jehan’s flight from London and the authorities? Might he even clear Jehan’s name? And will their adventure draw them closer or fling them apart forever?

My new story, London in the Rain for JMS Books‘ April Rain or Shine submissions call is now on release!
Raymond Smith is used to loneliness. As a hardworking clerk in rainy 1930s London, he hides behind the title of a confirmed bachelor, only occasionally acting on his desires at Charlie’s, a discreet Soho gay bar.
But when he meets charming, handsome David Carstairs, who offers him friendship and more, his narrow routine is threatened. Can he break the habit of a lifetime and permit himself to love?
A life of set routine is the norm for Raymond Smith. Now in his mid-thirties, a fleeting wartime romance far behind him, he is an exemplary clerk at a London insurance firm where he’s perceived as dry and conventional.
But Raymond has a secret. Every month or so, he visits Charlie’s, one of the more understated bars in Soho’s flowering gay scene in the 1930s. There, he seeks relief with strangers to get him through the next few weeks. On one of these visits, he encounters suave David Carstairs, a well-travelled linguist with the Foreign Office. Rather than a brief encounter, David offers him friendship and even affection. Despite Raymond’s misgivings, the two men, with their contrasting backgrounds and experiences, start to form a bond in the spring of 1936 as Europe inexorably begins to march towards war. Will Raymond fearfully reject this chance of happiness? Or can he unbend enough to allow David into his heart and life?
