I wasn't surprised by what I heard and what had come to fruition in the novel. I would say that the one reaction that was different, and stood out, was my response to being told the stories. I think being a fan of Unsolved Mysteries and the X-Files growing up, I was excited to hear a real life story. I did dig deeper when I was visiting family in the area the book takes place in. After hearing the first story, I asked other family members and friends. I didn't plan on a sequel to this story, but rather a possible series centering around the investigative team, like a sort of Ghostbusters novel series, or a sci-fi Jack Ryan, something of that nature. Although, the fate of Tomlin would either mean I'd have to either back track with prequels, or replace him. I was more than grateful and included the sources in my acknowledgements. The stories not only gave clarity to my sci-fi roots, but I think they also added credibility to the storyteller. At this point, I hope that readers find the story as much fun as I had writing it.(less)

The Book Shelf: Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus

This is not a book review. Every week I cover a novel with an emphasis on certain elements that are prevalent in each story. In this week’s edition of The Book Shelf, we’re talking about villains. Not your prototypical master manipulator, twitling of the mustache-type villain. We’re shedding that archetype and examining one of most iconic … Continue reading The Book Shelf: Frankenstein; or, The Mo Read more of this blog post »
