In the Homestretch
After numerous iterations of proofreading, the final version of Commissioner Machiavelli has been uploaded and is ready for release on September 1st.
The past few months have seen a rapid and intense learning experience about so many aspects of publishing and marketing my murder mystery. At 77 years of age I have, for the first time, created and posted my own TikTok videos. Posting book information on various social media platforms is yet another educational experience.
Today I began a Giveaway of my eBook version. 100 copies will be given away to winners.
In the midst of all of the marketing efforts in the last week running up to the book release, I have begun writing a sequel to Commissioner Machiavelli.

Getting ready to launch
As the official book launch for "Commissioner Machiavelli" is on September 1, 2026, I have lots of work to do over the next two months.
I received my book's proof copy from Amazon KDP and now I know why it is called a "proof." After many edits by myself and others, today a reader found a major "oops" in the printed book. Fortunately, I have some time to correct this before the eBook and print-on-demand versions get launched.
Every step writing and publishing this book is a real learning experience.
Here's my question for you, what does the title of the book mean to you?

Virtual Author Visits
After conducting several traditional Author Visits to K-5 schools, COVID-19 brought everything to a halt. As the world of education switched to video conferencing, I was able to use this technology to provide VIRTUAL Author Visits. Additionally, I didn't have any geographical restrictions and I could meet with teachers and students anywhere.
3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students had already acclimated to video conferencing techniques, so the Q&A sessions were artfully facilitated by their teachers.

My First Book Signing
On February 12th, for the first time in my life, I held a book signing for my new Children's Picture book. A small group of people but it was a great experience. The feedback was good and it gave me a chance to work out the logistics of what to bring, the process flow from payment to signing. At 71 years of age, this is an entirely new path of my life journey. It is exciting!
