"Zha is an engaging and insightful writer, and a compassionate physician--compassionate enough to see and recount the many ways she's seen "medical rape culture" negatively impact patients and those trying to care for them. I don't work in health care" Read more of this review »

“Loss had alerted us to earlier memories, and they sat in contrast to the parent we thought we knew.”
Sari Fordham, Wait for God to Notice

“My father attended a one-room Adventist school. He could barely read or write, and during class, he wandered around the room, no doubt annoying his teacher. Yet she responded with kindness, igniting in my father an admiration for the profession and an awareness of how one teacher can change someone’s life trajectory.”
Sari Fordham, Wait for God to Notice

“We know and don’t know our parents in equal parts.”
