Barbara Fournier Author of Now Say You’re Sorry a detective mystery set in South Dakota remembers her first writing classes at a community college in the Hudson Valley. She never imagined seeing her name on the cover of a book nor sitting at the desk of a bookstore signing her creation for the first time.
She is also the author of After Our First Hello a memoir on her personal and professional life as owner and operator of two hair salons a career that spanned 35 years.
Now retired, Barbara and her husband of nearly fifty years reside in upstate New York. They have one beautiful daughter and son in law.

We all drank from that same dipper. We had a bath once a week in a metal tub she put on the kitchen floor. No education, no way to get one. She struggled her entire life, and it’s a mystery to me why she had to struggle to die. She had Alzheimer’s and that my friend is a mystery in itself. (less)

I have lost seven family members thi…moreI have been helping other authors, reading their manuscripts when I can. This has been a rough year for everyone. I have lost seven family members this year during the pandemic, five of them in 37 days. first my brother, just 9 days later his wife, my nephew, my niece and 2 more sisters- in- law. and then the mother of my brother- in- law. So suffice to say it is time to live again and re-enter the world of reading and writing. Thanks for the question. (less)
