My first step is to delude myself into feeling like a writer. I close the laptop and pick up a pen and notebook. I'll go to a bar and order a bourbon and sit there with my notebook open. People look at you and you feel like you better do something. Write one word and follow it with another. It doesn't have to be involved in the story you're working on. Just write something and the juices will start flowing.(less)
