Raena lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and three children. When she’s not writing, she enjoys exploring historic battlefields (her kids always drag her up the tallest lookout towers), family movie nights that feature cheesy 80's and 90's action films, and daydreaming of expanding her backyard farm (goats are still under discussion). Her goal is to write stories that challenge, encourage, and remind readers that even in the darkness, when all hope seems lost, God is always in control.

Raena answered lauren kent's question: I just finished the subversive trilogy and was looking up more books by you and I'm devastated there is only one more trilogy to read? I'm going to have to read and reread again and again, I'm not ready to let go of these characters or the storyline. I've never read anything like this before, you're truly an amazing author and I'm sharing you with all my friends. Looking forward for more reads by you. God bless! This is so sweet! Thank you, Lauren! I'm truly honored that you loved Subversive. I hope you enjoy Reverence just as much! I'm working on a new trilogy now, but (fair warning) I'm a terribly slow writer, so the first book probably won't be released u See Full Answer

(The volunteer ceremony) We all fall down! (The fall of the city/the fireworks) Was that purposeful??? Hi Liliana! YES!! I believe you are the first person who put that together (or at least the first person who told me about it). :) It was in the really early stages of writing Reverence (when it was a very different book) when I thought of that rhyme See Full Answer

Raena liked Caitlin Nikolai's review of Subversive (Subversive, #1): "Woah. This book is thought-provoking, insightful, and oftentimes gut-wrenching. A lot was hard to read. But it will be even harder to live. It's encouraging me, though, to reexamine my faith. If I were challenged, would I stand strong?" Read more of this review »
