Reading Huckleberry Finn in one day at age seven sparked a lifelong interest in narrative structure. His career taught him to see patterns others miss. As a teenager, he won 17 world and US championships in flying disc sports. As a software engineer and cloud architect, he learned to deconstruct complex systems into elegant, repeatable patterns. He retired in 2022 to focus on writing, and brought that analytical rigor to storytelling craft. "Turn the Screws" emerged from writing "KOSTYA" with his framework called “constriction” and his refusal to accept rules that contradicted the films and novels that actually captivated audiences. ...more
