Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I’ve read all of Brandon Taylor’s work, but I have to admit that this novel didn’t quite resonate with me. I plan to revisit it once it’s officially published, but on an initial reading it struck me as both too meander

This was such an emotional read. The plot is poignant and relatable (soon to become even more relatable in my case), but I appreciated how raw and honest the story was. Now if only I had the time (ie. the will) to read it is the original Portuguese!

Douglas Adams
“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.”
