So, I began writing prayers for my own use and collecting inspirational readings from Christian books and bloggers. Calling Out grew out of this.(less)

Some lived with anxiety, others depression, some battled cancer or MS or other conditions. Although our symptoms differed, we belonged to the same tribe: real women facing difficulty in life. I wrote this book for my sisters - women around the world who wrestle with life - like I do - and who need an infusion of hope as they continue to face really tough circumstances.(less)

Here are two gems from Dear God by Bunmi Laditan. You weave my destiny together, and I sit here pulling threads, criticizing colours, weeping over last year’s patches, fretting over tomorrow’s patterns, screaming as we sit too close to the fire. God, please push your loom back, lest I go up in flames, my quilt... Continue Reading → Read more of this blog post »

“It is only in the presence of God that we find the relief that comes from being ourselves - exposing all of our brokenness - and knowing that He is not disappointed. His love doesn't waver. We are His. He has adopted us. He wants us, even when we have nothing to give.”
Holly Dickson-Ramos, Strong Spirit: Hope for Women Living with Illness

“Redefine good, explore new possibilities and cherish sweet moments.”
Holly Dickson-Ramos, Strong Spirit: Hope for Women Living with Illness

“For many of us, life is complicated. Challenging. We battle illness, longing for many things: to be loved, to live meaningful lives, to enjoy just one day without symptoms, without triggering a condition, to feel capable of nurturing our loved ones the way we want to, to be defined not by a condition or a diagnosis, but by our inner selves - the person God sees when He looks at us.”

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
Maya Angelou

“What I've come to learn is that the world is never saved in grand messianic gestures, but in the simple accumulation of gentle, soft, almost invisible acts of compassion.”
