Four years have flowed like a river since I published my first novel. It has been a long journey, filled with obstacles overcome and lessons learned. Yet, this is not the end of the path—it is the beginning of a new adventure, perhaps the longest journey of my life.

My wife and I have decided to terminate the publishing of our book for the Czech Republic this year. It has been three years since we left my native country, and we no longer feel the need to invest our energy, time, or money into the Czech book market. For us, it no longer offers anything of value.

This decision marks a turning point, a step toward new horizons. We look forward to focusing our efforts on sharing our stories with a broader, global audience.

I am excited to share that I have begun translating my debut novel, The Inscrutable Ways of Fate, originally published as Nevyzpytatelné jsou cesty osudu.

The final version, expected to be around 90,000 words, is set to be completed by June 2024. This project is a labor of love, and I can’t wait to share it with more readers.

After discussing the translation of the Inscrutable Ways of Fate, Nevyzpytatelné jsou cesty osudu, with a professional editor from the UK, I’ve decided to follow her advice: I’m throwing the current translation into the trash bin and starting fresh.

Rather than simply translating the original, I am rewriting the book entirely in English. This new version will be more than a translation—it will be a completely reimagined work, with added content and deeper insights. You can look forward to exploring the childhoods of the main heroes and delving deeper into their minds and motivations.

This process is ambitious and time-consuming, so the book will not be ready before the end of 2025. However, I believe the result will be worth the wait. Thank you for your patience and support as I embark on this exciting new chapter!

I am proud to announce that I have begun working on the English translation of my other series, Lost in Time, originally published as Na hraně temnoty.

This work is a literary dark psychological fiction with fantasy elements, and the English version will be stylized in an archaic tone to match the original’s unique voice.

Welcome to my world: Divine Tragicomedy, a series set in a mediaeval realm born from years of D&D-inspired gameplay, refined with logic, psychology, and a touch of satire.

The first volume, The Inscrutable Ways of Fate, spans nine years in the lives of four protagonists—ordinary souls shaped by their childhoods. There are no chosen heroes or magical artefacts here, just people whose small struggles ripple into history’s vast tapestry.

Think detailed descriptions, slow-burn storytelling, and a world where a young elf knows the whispers of the forest better than the wars of distant kings. It’s a tale of how environment forges us, rooted in a carefully crafted lore that unfolds gradually—not an avalanche of names, but a quiet, deliberate dance.

I’m currently rewriting The Inscrutable Ways of Fate in English, expanding the childhood of these characters to deepen their roots.

Here’s a taste:

The slight, bronzed girl ran like the wind towards the shanty town. Her raven hair billowed behind her, resembling the flames under the alchemists’ boiling flasks. Along the winding unpaved road to her family’s house, her feet danced between potholes with practiced grace.
Hell’s teeth! I gotta shift meself, or Mum’ll be givin’ me a lot of stick again! she prodded herself into running to hell for leather.
Once again, the capricious gods did not answer her childish prayers, letting the sombre morning blossom into a radiant day instead of granting her the solace of a tempest. It was a day ripe for picking herbs, now in fullest bloom as the spring was ready to pass the sceptre to summer.
The girl shuddered with disgust at the thought of gathering medicinal plants and roots, a tedious task requiring a level of patience she had yet to acquire. She paused, casting her gaze skyward in a futile plea. Her honey-coloured eyes encountered the boundless azure, and then she hung her head with a vanquished look.
