Arthur T. Lee started writing creatively when he was six years old. His first book, a one-page story entitled The Rainbow Goes to Japan, was chosen by his first grade teacher to go to the local Young Author’s Conference. Says he, “It was clear to me then—while on the swings at recess, I believe--that writing was what I wanted… yearned…had to do.” Arthur currently resides with his wife and three boys in Washington State, where, he says, “I have the privilege of telling my kids a bedtime story each and every night.”

Mr. Lee studied English at BYU. He is a first-time author. In addition to working on a sequel to Partners Again, as well as many other middle grade and young adult novels, he is preparing for the launch of his national non-profit Arthur T. In addition to working on a sequel to Partners Again, as well as many other middle grade and young adult novels, he is preparing for the launch of his national non-profit organization, the Partners Again Creative Writing Foundation. The PACWF invites well-respected authors to join Arthur in teaching kids and adults of the power to be found through their imaginations and the creative writing process, as a means to helping families and individuals heal emotionally from theirs pasts, develop empathy and deal with problems in the present, and strengthen their families and relationships for a better future! “In the end,” says Mr. Lee, “we want to strengthen the family unit. Can the imagination save your family? Yes!”

Arthur grew up in Federal Way, Washington with five brothers and sisters in a small 900 square foot home. While times were tough, and money was extremely scarce, Arthur recounts they were never without the necessary encouragement and opportunity to learn and play and dream and imagine. Early on, Arthur was taught the value of hard work, a value that paid off as he began his own family, and began pursuing his own dreams.

After BYU, he began working his way up in the business and financial worlds, waking up as early as four in the morning to write some of the ideas in his head. It took five years to complete Partners, completely re-writing it as many as ten times. Then, after selling a business he helped build, and with his family’s support and “lots and lots and lots of savings”, he hung up his slacks and tie, and began pursuing his dream of writing for children as a full-time career. “I love every minute of it,” he beams. “I am home with my kids when I need to be, and I get to write stories from my imagination for my job! I consider my blessings to be beyond measure.”

From the moment his first pencil hit paper back in first grade to seeing his first novel arrive in the mail, he has felt writing, and helping people through writing, is what he is supposed to do.
