My editor Kat Howard suggested there was enough in the stories (and left out of the stories) for a novel.

The nugget of the idea for a city spinning through time and connecting to different places and times came out of the blue during a lunchtime walk. I have no idea what led me to it. Sometimes I think the city reached out and tapped me on the shoulder and whispered, "Write me."(less)
