Diana Greenbird started writing stories back when she first learnt to pick up a pen at the age of three. “Twice Bitten” was the first original novel she wrote at the age of 13 back in 2008-2010, inspired by the Twilight vampire-craze.

Diana grew up in the suburbs of Yorkshire, England, and studied Literature at the University of Sheffield; travelling as often as she can with her husband - especially to the wilds of Scotland.

Today, Diana works part-time writing her novels at home; looking after her two energetic pups, Beatrice and Flynn, and fitting in National Trust walks between seeing her crazy family on Sundays.

With Midnight Sun coming out, I wanted to revisit my old work and get it out to the public. It's mostly just reading over teenage-Diana's work and editing the bits that seem dated, or weren't worded as well as a 24 year old Diana's writing style.(less)

Then the idea sort of developed from there: wondering what it would be like for the people out there who depended on getting together in large groups regularly to keep off the streets and out of trouble. How small towns that didn't have big companies to keep their pay cheques going would deal.

Lilac and Dawson simply came from there: the have and the have-not. Someone entirely independent, but alone in the crisis, and then someone who had a whole town relying on them, but had very little else to help.(less)
