Thank you for asking this question!

It's a very challenging and difficult time for Ukraine, my friends, family and myself as well. After 8.5 years of living in Malaysia I've returned back to Ukraine. I returned right before the full-scale war of russia in Ukraine had started.

For me the war has effects on these levels:

On emotional level: very difficult. Emotions vary day by day, uncertainty, fear, anger, sadness, horrors of war. War is a very horrible thing, therefore there are almost no positive emotions at the moment. At the same time these horrors unite Ukrainians, unite families and friends, connections deepen and only true friendships remain. E.g. all my former friends from russia have disappeared from my life, all of them either support or choose to remain silent in these times.

On intellectual level: very promising. War has pushed a lot of people to create new ways to think and act, change business models, invent new things. You are basically not afraid to lose anything and become fearless. Bravery has become the superpower of Ukraine, including myself.

I write less these days. I act more - creating new businesses, volunteering, helping people in need.

I know Ukraine will win. russia will fall apart. Slava Ukraini!

Thank you once again for asking this question.(less)

Jalal ad-Din Muhammad ar-Rumi
“Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn't matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again , come , come.”
Jelaluddin Rumi

Erich Fromm
“Love means to commit oneself without guarantee, to give oneself completely in the hope that our love will produce love in the loved person. Love is an act of faith, and whoever is of little faith is also of little love.”
Erich Fromm

George Orwell
“If you loved someone, you loved him, and when you had nothing else to give, you still gave him love.”
George Orwell, 1984

George Orwell
“Being in a minority, even in a minority of one, did not make you mad. There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.”
George Orwell, 1984

Erich Fromm
“Love is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, there would be no basis for the promise to love each other forever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can I judge that it will stay forever, when my act does not involve judgment and decision.”
Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving
