Lisa Higgins, the mother of two children, twenty-one years apart, writes fanciful and dramatic Historical Romance novels with irresistible, misunderstood heroes and strong, stubborn heroines. As a child, she loved to read with a flashlight until the wee hours of the morning. Although Lisa has a vivid imagination, she pursued life before finding her passion for writing and spinning tales. Maid for the Earl is Lisa’s third book.
Born in South Florida, Lisa adores eighty-degree weather, palm trees, and the ocean; however, she was raised near The Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, giving her a tender spot for the mountains and their surrounding beauty. She considers it “God’s Country” for all seasons except winter. Lisa hates winter. If you ask

“Metaphorically speaking:

While unfortunate, corruption, and evil will always exist in our story, driven by the force of greed, power, hate, and ignorance.

Don't stop at the end of the chapter because love, kindness, faith, and cliques— still abound— all around us if we only continue to read.

We must always believe that good will triumph over bad for a five-star review by the end of our book.

“money can't buy you happiness. What it can do, however, is buy you lots of expensive and meaningless crap to help disguise how unhappy you actually are.”
N.C. Marshall, See You Soon

“More people continue to join the party, some familiar faces, and some new ones that I look forward to getting to know. I smile and wave as I spot Lucy through the crowd, where she stands outside Logan’s Tavern laughing. She’s joined by the two girls she met when we first arrived here that she now classes as her best friends. She’s recently completed her first year of an art course at college. Seems she has a real flair for it, and I've never seen her happier. Her watercolours of Ceaders Bay, which take pride of place on the walls of our new home, are nothing short of phenomenal. She has recently painted one to send as a house warming gift to my parents, who are now living up the coast from us in their beloved village of Pemblington”

“I know you are there before I turn around. There's a shift in the air, the wind changes its direction ever so slightly, but just enough to make me aware”
