J.A. Flowers writes mysteries featuring private investigator Decklen Bane. Bane is a troubled PI who washes down pain killers with whiskey sours and offices out of a gourmet grilled-cheese food truck. Haunted by the murder of his twin brother, he seeks to find the people responsible for taking away his best friend. Bane takes cases that hone his skills and open his mind to the dark side of humanity, all in hopes of righting the wrongs presented to him.

J. A. Flowers grew up in Dallas and lives in Waco, Texas. His Lone Star roots influence his writing, characters, and language. He is an avid baseball fan, particularly of the Texas Rangers, so he understands suffering.

Redemption is a theme I like to explore as I write and these three characters allowed me to search that theme.(less)
