J Michael Vagott (1958- ) was born in the rural town of Matewan, WV, home of the Hatfield/McCoy Feud. On his mother's side of the family he is a direct descendent of the infamous William "Devil Anse" Hatfield, leader of the Hatfield clan. On his Father's side of the family he comes from immigrant settlers from Budapest Hungary who came to America to work in the mining industry. Vagott has been writing since early childhood and has written many how to articles on martial arts and was a staff writer for Ozark Trails Magazine. He spent many years in the entertainment industry working at both Dollywood and Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO doing magic shows and stage shows as well as a stint as an Elvis Impersontator! This classic is one of my favorites! Like many, I saw the movie many times before I got to read the book. I absolutely loved the book! The detail and pacing was amazing and i loved the way the characters were portrayed. S fantastic read!
