I was born in Prague. I am a secular Jewish Czech. After obtaining a political asylum in the UK in 1987, I worked as a GP- family doctor till my retirement. It's an ideal job for a curious woman and a writer, people told me things. Now I write. You hear a lot of stories as a doctor, no wonder so many writers were originally medical doctors- Chekhov, Khalid Hosseini, many others.

My new novel – WHY DIDN'T THEY LEAVE?, a family saga about a mixed ( Czech, Jewish, Afro-Caribbean ) family 1938-2006, taking place in Central Europe, Grenada, Britain, and USA.was published in September 2021.

We got political asylum in the UK in 1987 we were very careful with correspondence. We never put return address on any letters, neither did our friends and family. The communist regime ended in November 1989. But it was scary and puzzling, how could they know our address.(less)

Plan of new books to write

Recent medical problems snowed me more of the healthcare from the patient's side.
I am a retired GP, and I was always aware of the power I had to make people miserable.
I tried to have that power in check.
So, the recent experience of waiting 14 hours for an ambulance, of a specialist telling me 14 years ago, "Yes, this is Parkinson's, come back in 6 months when it is worse." NOT IF < WHEN; ;;
