Chris Bishop was born in London in 1951.

After a successful career as a Chartered Surveyor he retired to concentrate on writing, combining this with his lifelong interest in history.
His first novel, Blood and Destiny, was published in 2017 followed by The Warrior with the Pierced Heart in 2018, The Final Reckoning in 2019, Bloodlines in 2021 and The Prodigal Son in 2023. Together they form The Shadow of the Raven Series set at the time of Alfred the Great.

His other interests are travel, windsurfing and fly fishing.

Chris is a member of the Historical Writers’ Association and the Historical Novel Society.
