I had fallen in love with the Chronicles of Narnia by page 2 of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I don't think I have ever fallen out of love with that magical world. What would I do there? I have just started Under A Gilded Moon by Joy Jordan-Lake. This novel is set around George Vanderbilt and his extraordinary project to build Biltmore House in North Carolina - a true story of 'The Golden Age' and one connected with my great uncle who married Cornelia Vanderbilt. Then it will be back to Egypt to reread Amelia Edward's wonderful memoir A Thousand Miles up the Nile.(less)
