Horror

Hello everyone, its nearly Halloween again, which I must say is my favourite time of year. Which should not come as a surprise as I am a huge horror fan. My own stories are largely inspired by the works of James Herbert. I started reading James’s work when I was just 16. The first of his books that I read was The Rats, which is arguably his most famous story. But the book I came to love above all others was the Ghosts of Sleath. Which was a story of a mass haunting, that took place in a small village which was hidden away in the Chilton hills. The thing that stood out the most for me in regards to the book was a line in the blurb, it read, Sleath, where the dead will walk the streets, that line has stayed with me to this day.

is it just me or are there very few great horror writers left.

I am a huge fan of the works of James Herbert, but I have found that there few other writers of his caliber. Some Kings works are ok, but I found his books can be overly long, and with disappointing endings. Though I should point out I loved Salms Lot, and his short story One for the Road. Dose anyone else find the horror genre lacking of late.

The ghosts of Sleath on a global scale

The Ghost of Sleath, but on a Globe scale
Hello everyone. I've just published two books on amazon. The first of which is called Lucy, which is book one in the fading light series. It is my aim to create a series of books, all set in the same universe, but told through short stories. The series is set in the shadows of a possible end time scenario. I am a huge fan of James Herbert, and I loved what he did with the Ghosts of Sleath. In that story James told a story of a mass haunting. Well I want to do that on a Global scale. At first the events will be isolated, the public by and large will remain ignorant, but as time goes by the number of strange events will increase until the point that they can no longer be ignored.

Vampires, ghosts, demons’ werewolves, and cults, all of these groups will come in to play as the world grows darker. For those who like slow build-ups, and dark horrors, I think these books maybe the thing for you. As I said at the start the first two books are now available, Lucy, and the second book, The Shepherd.

The editors of Jericho writers said the stories were terrifying, gruesome and very atmospheric.

James Herbert, where are all the blogs

I am a huge James Herbert fan, after all it was his books that not only got me in to horror, but also inspired me to become a writer, yet despite having a huge collection of work that spans over 30 years, there are few blogs about him on Goodreads, why is that?
