I’m an avid writer and journalist. I'm also a child & adult domestic violence survivor which inspired my memoir 'How Wonder Woman Became a Smuggler', a story of intense adventures driven by true events.

Be content that you've put 20 minutes into your writing. Then take 20 minutes off to do your "to-do's" in life, i.e., exercise, the laundry, or reward yourself for staying on schedule by lying down and reading your favorite novel for the 20 minutes.

Hint: Before you take your 20 minute break. Take note of what you were doing and where you are. Often I'll leave myself a note "start here" so that when I come back to write, I don't have to wonder where to start. Making a note of what you want to work on when you come back from a break allows you to totally disengage during your break. (less)
