Good book and well written, but not for me. Lost interest halfway through. Would recommend to MG readers though.

Fascinating look into the mind and philosophy of Tolkien. Though not part of the Legendarium, one can see the seeds that would later grow into the great tree of his lore.

“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”
Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt: Hitchhiking the Galaxy One Last Time

“The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter. ’tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.”
Mark Twain, The Wit and Wisdom of Mark Twain: A Book of Quotations

“Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia.”

N.D. Wilson
“Writer's block — so what? Write something bad. Just throw it in the trash can when you're done, you're always improving. That kind of writing is like doing a bunch of push-ups. Every individual push-up is not the important thing. On Tuesday you're going to think, "Is it really important that I do it today?" No, but the collective impact is. If you write every day, you will improve.”
N.D. Wilson

Christy R. Harrill
“What happens to us in our lives is out of our control. We could no sooner dictate our circumstances than we could touch the stars. The only thing we possess control over in our lives is how we react to those circumstances. How we choose to respond to them.”
Christy R. Harrill, The King Slayer
