The struggle of staying alive and well when adventuring is enough to push back the despair and desperation that comes with writer’s block to the back of the brain. When I return, I can look at the piece from a new perspective and start from there, effectively crumbling that block to nothing. If I don’t have the time or means to go adventuring, I’ll typically just jump Phil, my husband, and hope the dopamine from our lovemaking does the trick. (less)

Incidentally, this is based on a true story. Fortunately, the lich in question had a much more agreeable personality in death than in life—when all it takes is threatening to drop a clay pot to convince them to obey you, most matters can be resolved rather quickly.
