Kelly Hawkins

Kelly Hawkins was born and raised in Western Massachusetts. After transferring from Fairfield University to Bay Path University, she was asked by her English professor to become a writing and academic tutor for her peers. She enjoyed the work so much that, after graduating Summa Cum Laude, she pursued her Master of Arts in Teaching from Elms College.

After earning her degree and teaching certification, she began working in Connecticut at Enrico Fermi High School. Once her initial year there passed, she returned to the school where she completed her student teaching practicum, Agawam High School, where she has been a full time member of the English Department since 2002. In addition to teaching at the high school level, Kelly has worked with elementary students, undergraduate students, graduate students, and fellow educators.

She has recently completed several freelance writing projects, including contributing posts to The Hark Journal - a free email subscription that provides daily inspirational messages for today's world based on Shakespearean quotes.

50 Things to Know About Being a High School English Teacher is Kelly's first published book. She is currently working on the audio book version and hopes to write more and complete voice over work in the near future.
