A former pastor turned writer, Aimée lives by the beach in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband Dave and three of their four children. These days you’re most likely to find her writing in the margins, with a cup of strong black coffee in hand as she juggles the beautiful chaos of family life and tries to keep up with her kids who range in age from five to twenty-six.

A total word girl, but most of all a lover of God’s Word, Aimée is passionate about helping people understand and encounter the truth of the Scriptures so they can live in the fullness of all God has planned and purposed for their lives. “But I Flourish” is her first book. She has also written nine Bible Studies (and counting) that have been released

I mean, there were so many amazing writers and Bible teachers out there already, who was I to think I had anything to add!

God had to bring me back to some foundational truths about who I am in Christ (spoiler alert: there's a whole chapter on this in "But I Flourish"!), and remind me that ultimately I am called to serve Him and be obedient to what He is asking me to do. What He chose to do and grow from my obedience was up to Him. This brought so much freedom to my spirit and released me to get back to doing what He had asked me to do: write.

Writer's block still hits, but I'm much more equipped now to combat the lies the enemy throws my way. And if all else fails, I take a shower--that's where I get my best ideas!(less)

“I had been waiting for external circumstances to change, but God wanted me to realise that it was an internal change—the position of my heart, not my circumstances—that was the key to flourishing.”
Aimee Walker, But I Flourish: Learn to Thrive in Every Season

“When we decide to determine the timing for ourselves, we get into a place of striving, a place where “I have to make this happen.” Fear of missing out on our destiny will both haunt and drive us. But when we understand that there is a due season for harvest, a proper, appointed time for what has been promised to be realised in our lives and that in His great love and faithfulness God will bring it to pass, we find rest.”
Aimee Walker, But I Flourish: Learn to Thrive in Every Season

“If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been guilty more than once of switching it around, worshipping the Lord and then diminishing who He is and what He is capable of with the ‘but’ of our circumstances. So often we allow our obstacles and inadequacies to become bigger that who God is, derailing what He wants to do because of what we perceive to be an impossibility.”
