Award-Winning Author + 500 Words of March

Friends, I have big news.

Last week, I won third place in the Valentine’s Romance Short Story Contest hosted by Carrie Turansky.

That means I’m now an award-winning author!!!

Say what?!

I know; I’m in shock. But it’s a happy, ecstatic, elated sort of a shock.

I can now add “Award-Winning Author” to every single book cover for the rest of my career.

This is an answer to prayer, and I’m especially grateful that the story that won is my first submitted-somewhere romantic trag...

Song Spotlight: I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

Y’all, it was a crazy finish to 2025. I dog-and-house-sat for dear friends as they dealt with a difficult good-bye out of state. I heard of five different deaths in the families of close friends of mine (including the one mentioned in the previous sentence). I had severe dental anxiety, worked through childhood dental trauma in a record four days, and got through some tough appointments without passing out (praise be to God, my Ever-Present Help!). And the Christmas and New Year festivities with...

Thankful for YOU

Friends, as I celebrate Thanksgiving this year, I’m going to be thinking about YOU. I’m grateful that you follow my blog. I’m grateful that you read my books. I’m grateful that you share those books with friends and post your reviews to Goodreads, Amazon, and other sites.

I’m also grateful that we’re friends.

There was a time in my life when I had zero friends outside of my family. That was the hardest time for me because I’m a social introvert who absolutely craves people and friendshi...

Culture Through Food {with Recipes!}

Novelists in November turns one year old on Wednesday, November 19. That means “Melting-Pot Thanksgiving,” my story in the collection, has been available for readers to discover for an entire year this week!

Where did the time go?

Since it’s been a full year in just a couple of days, it feels like the right time to share a spoilery article about what the Thanksgiving meal in the story means for leading lady Sarah Jones.

In fact, I’m going to let Sarah tell you herself…

“This country...

Recently, I was part of two different cover reveal teams. I hope you’ll add these books to your Goodreads or in-person wish lists.

I copyedited the first and can vouch for how sweet, mysterious, and romantic it is. My friend Crystal has a way with words that tugs me in and kee...

Sorrow and Hope

Friends, it’s been a hard week. My heart aches so much for Charlie Kirk’s family. Hearing that he was martyred for his faith and murdered for his political stances left me feeling hollow and weary. This world is evil, and that saddens me.

Yet, seeing the revival flooding into the world, and especially the United States of America (my home country), fills me with hope. There are still good people doing great things for Jesus Christ, and that uplifts my spirit.

I’ve been praying for reviv...
