Keslie Patch Bohrod has been telling stories since grade school, when her award-winning essay “The Human Jefferson” was published in The Daughters of the American Revolution Magazine. After earning degrees in Psychology/Social Work and an advanced degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, she built a career in consulting, corporate quality management, and research before returning to her first love—writing.

Her debut thriller, Loveladies Ennui, introduces readers to Miranda Craig, a woman whose seemingly ordinary life on the New Jersey shore takes dangerous and unexpected turns. Miranda’s day-to-day life is intentionally quiet, repetitive, and at times, boring. That monotony is the foundation of the story. Miranda’s day-to-day life is intentionally quiet, repetitive, and at times, boring. That monotony is the foundation of the story. "I wanted readers to feel the rhythm of island living; the endless shopping trips off the island, the house projects, the puzzles, the long stretches where nothing seems to happen. It’s meant to mirror Miranda herself. An ordinary woman in a predictable summer routine, so that when something unsettling finally creeps in, it does so slowly and almost imperceptibly.

The mystery in Loveladies Ennui isn’t designed to barge through the door. It seeps in. At first, it’s barely a ripple beneath the surface of an otherwise peaceful existence. The pacing reflects how real life often works. Tragedy doesn’t always announce itself with urgency. Curiosity builds long before certainty ever arrives. By the time Miranda begins to grasp what is happening, the reader has lived inside her normalcy long enough to understand just how disruptive those questions truly are.

The follow-ups, Deadly Deposit, was released in 2021, Up Oyster Creek Without A Paddle (June 2022), Shell Shock (August 2023), Intestinal Fortitude (May 2024) and most recently, A Swarm of Drones (August 2025).
