Melissa Gunn spent several years pursuing a successful science career before deciding it would be fun to write fiction as well as fact – though it turns out that there is even more research involved.

Luckily research is one of her favourite things. She enjoys combining facts that seem fantastical with actual fantasy, and creating quirky characters with a sense of humour.

A polar blast in time for launch day

It's winter down here in the Southern Hemisphere, and while we've so far had the mildest June on record (thank you, climate change), a polar blast is making it's way up the country. It should be here just in time for launch day - which is just two days away now!
