Bree Aguiar was born October 1994 in Fall River, Massachusetts. She is one of many cousins in her large, Portuguese family. Growing up, her best friends were fictional characters. She graduated from Stonehill College in 2016 with a B.A. in Political Science and currently works full time as a risk manager, though writing is her passion. Her favorite genres to read are fantasy, science fiction, horror, and thrillers, but her own work focuses on YA fantasy. Her debut novel, Gatehouse, was released in 2021. Her inspirations can be found in the works of Brandon Sanderson, Sarah J Maas, and Haruki Murakami. When she is not writing, she can be found reading, cross-stitching, crocheting, and watching Jeopardy. She currently resides in Massachusetts ...more

Most fictional worlds, especially in the books I read, are pretty scary. The lands of Wheel of Time and the planets in Dune, for instance, are gorgeous but constantly under threat of war and evil tyrants. If I HAD to pick, I'd definitely choose The Shire, but only to live out Bilbo's 111th birthday every day. Any day after that starts to lead into the evil tyranny territory, so I would generally avoid it.(less)

In between that, I will be continuing my first time read through of Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's Wheel of Time novels.(less)

This was realistically a 3.5 star, but I will read the sequel so I rounded up.

This book was the third Dramione fanfiction novel I read in less than 6 months, but it’s been my favorite. Why? Because you can’t TELL that it is fanfiction. If you just h

This book was utterly derivative and predictable. The whole thing read like the author just said “ChatGPT, give me the plot line for a basic YA romantasy” and that was what we got. The characters were unlikable and uninteresting, the plot was so pred ...more

Ok struggling with the star rating on this one...

The Pros: The plot itself is amazing. I love the mystery of it all, and I am a huge puzzle fan. The idea of the Dream and humanity solving these crazy insane sequences really got me. I was obsessed, an
