The Tobacco Wives by
Adele MyersMy rating:
5 of 5 starsAdele Myers debut novel beautifully immerses the reader within the complex world of Big Tobacco in the North Carolina in the 1940s.
The Tobacco Wives is a must read and even a better listen for anyone into historical fiction. I can't wait to read her next novel!
My favorite quote from the book: "But mostly, I cried because I saw the world differently now. I'd be soon sure of what was right and wrong, of who was good and bad. Through my child's eyes everything was so simple, so clear. But life wasn't like that. It was far mor complicated. I understood that now. And now that I knew, there was no going back."
