I actually enjoyed this volume more because Rin and Mephisto hardly interrupted the action. It was better to get the story straight than with their constant pop ups when they're just observing. While the arc in general is already revealed simply by R ...more

While I’m happy to get some context/backstory, it ended up being one of those info-dump volumes where the entire thing follows a small number of characters as they go on a specific mission that isn’t even over when the volume ends. The author even ha ...more

I did not expect things to go the way they did for sure. I was actually more interested in how the rest of the world is handling the growing appearances of demons, but it's also been a while since Rin has gained any more control or power/made actual ...more

Well, I was definitely not expecting that ending. There has been so little of Yukio in the past couple volumes it would have been nice if he'd been on the page more. All we get of him is a few panels and him thinking about how him and Rin were born, ...more

“There is simply no issue more important. Conservation is the preservation of human life on earth, and that, above all else, is worth fighting for.”
Rob Stewart, Sharkwater

“When straight-identified women have sex with women, the broader culture waits in anticipation for them to return to what is likely their natural, heterosexual state; when straight-identified men have sex with men, the culture waits in anticipation for them to admit that they are gay.”
Jane Ward, Not Gay: Sex Between Straight White Men

Cormac McCarthy
“Do you think I lie to you?
No.
But you think I might lie to you about dying.
Yes.
Okay. I might. But we're not dying.
Okay.”
Cormac McCarthy, The Road

Hugh Laurie
“He flapped his mouth some more, and then shook himself awake, came to a decision, and starting sneaking huge, theatrical looks around the restaurant, as a way of telling all the other lunchers that I Am Now Going To Give This Man An Important Piece of Paper.”
Hugh Laurie, The Gun Seller

“There are as many ways to discover your story as there are to trip over a dog in the kitchen--and some of them feel about as planned.”
