Abigail grew up in North Florida in a house full of books, cats, and burgeoning writers. Following a supposably successful homeschooling career, she graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Hospitality & Tourism Management before attending the School of Artisan Food in Nottinghamshire, UK, for her Advanced Baking Diploma.

When it comes to writing, her emphasis has always been on catharsis and escapism: capturing the emotion of a nighttime car ride with the windows down; the taste of salt and freedom on a wild breeze; the tight embrace of a found family. welcome to caffeination station; it's pumpkin spice latte season

Overcaffeinated and ready to fight is the name of this chapter. As a naturally rageful person I enjoy any opportunity to throw fists (in a psychological/emotional/spiritual sense). It’s rarely in defense of myself, because everyone in the whole world (including perfect strangers) except me deserves to be defended with this extreme category of fervor. Debate is an extreme sport; casual manipulation Read more of this blog post »

“He swirled his drink and stared off into the crowd, terribly satisfied. “Have you ever seen a face so weirdly symmetrical? Put our man Luca Catenacci on a poster for…Sicilian cologne. Those genes? With the whole Vitelli-Marzano thing you’ve got going?” He issued a low whistle. “Unstoppable.”
Abigail C. Edwards, And We All Bled Oil

“Enjoying the view?” I asked, finally, tired of his eyes drilling into the side of my head.
“Enjoying isn’t the right word,” he returned, swirling his amaretto. “It’s more a morbid fascination with your spiral into self-destruction.”
Abigail C. Edwards, And We All Bled Oil

“I thought about the fruit of ancient tradition, oil like blood, and suddenly I realized that if olive oil was sacred, then this was sacrilegious.”
Abigail C. Edwards, And We All Bled Oil

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“How do you say 'bring me sausage and eggs or I'll slit your throat' in Italian?"

"Look it up in the phrase book.”
Regina Doman, Black as Night

“Every once in a while you just have to decide to do something very crazy and very right--just to dare yourself to live. I don't mean doing something stupid and destructive--just something fun and good and beautiful.”
Regina Doman, The Shadow of the Bear

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
