“يحاجج البعض بوجود تعارض زمني بين علم الله وإرادة الإنسان في أفعاله. لكن أي علاقة مقارنة تفترض وجود معيار مشترك، فكيف نقارن بين علم خارج الزمان وقرار داخل الزمان؟ إن أي قرار تاريخي نتيجة إرادة إنسانية هو نقطة على خط الزمن المتكون من الماضي والحاضر والمستقبل. سنجد أن الله بكل صفاته، ومنها علمه، لا يمكن أن يقع على أي نقطة من ذلك الخط الزمني لأنه خارج الزمان من الأساس، وهنا سنجد أننا لا نستطيع الحديث عن أي علاقة زمنية بين علم الله وإرادة الإنسان، لا "قبل" ولا "بعد" ولا "في نفس اللحظة" لأنه لا توجد لحظات من الأساس.”
