If I went to Middle-Earth, I'd befriend a bunch of elves and dwarves and go on epic quests to the northern, southern, and far-eastern regions of Middle-Earth that were not explored in Tolkien's works. If I was in the Halo universe, I'd probably travel from world to world checking out the different human and alien cultures on each planet...Without getting attacked by the Covenant or UNSC.(less)

“While he could not directly challenge Fahim, Haroun had one advantage: he had direct experience with how groupthink could rapidly destroy prosperity of a country. And with his knowledge and invitations to be a guest speaker, he would do everything he could to educate others about the dangers of groupthink to prevent others from suffering like he did.”
Alex Russo, The Refugee from a Democratic Utopia

“A-aang tsk-qatsk no’o’em,” it said, pointing at the CRT display more urgently.

I thought hard. My training when studying to become a logistics manager had prepared me for a moment like this. Then, it occurred to me that the alien wanted a computer.”
Alex Russo

“Anyone else?” she intimidated, the cannons on the other animals rotating to face the chests of the other soldiers.”
Alex Russo, The Death of a Species

“The symbol of peace cannot be daunted by evil. I smile to show the pressure of heroes and to trick the fear inside of me.”
Kouhei Horikoshi

“Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.”
G.K. Chesterton

“Wot Wot”
Brian Jacques, The Long Patrol

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
