Freya O'Brien is an English poet and illustrator who channels her heart through her pen. She creates poems and illustrations based on her personal life, thoughts and emotions. She specifically focuses on her experiences with mental health, grief, trauma, family, relationships and healing.

I view writers block as my brain signalling that I need a break. So, I allow myself one. I put my pen down and take time off. I go for walks in nature, I see loved ones and / or try something new. When I feel inspired and like the words are itching to be on the paper, only then do I start writing again. I then usually have a surge of ideas!(less)

When I stop, I feel lighter and more understood.

Abysmal

I thought this was going to be a witty, insightful self-help book. It wasn’t.
It ended up feeling like a mish mash of philosophy references, pop culture nods, and the author’s indulgent youth.
I really struggled with the author’s voice and tone

5 star to 1 star read

Honestly, the first few chapters were amazing. I felt empowered to face my fear and anxiety, and I will be taking those lessons forward.

The middle bit around decisions was also helpful, because instead of thinking a decision is r

Loved Talon

I really liked Talon and Averys relationship, and that Avery decided against petty revenge.

I’m glad we got the epilogue. I’m going to miss the glittering siren sisters.

Mixed feelings

I love Bane and Zora. But, the intimacy increased very quickly, it didn’t feel earned. And, I am sure there would have been a better way to handle the situation than make everyone hate Zora.

I really liked this one! It was interesting to see the far world and the investigation into the eclipse. I loved Kai and Clementine together.

Fun, angsty read

I liked Izzy and Porter as characters. There were quite a few heavy themes in this book, but it still felt light and fun to read. I just felt like the threat to Izzy came to a head a bit too late in the book. I also thought the spice

I enjoyed the other books in the series more

I found this book hard to get into. The ending gripped me though, and I did enjoy the rest of the series.

A bit confusing to follow

I loved the premise of the book. It just fell a little flat for me. I found the timelines confusing, and the pov jumps a bit jarring. There was also very little difference in the character / voice of the three women.
